“Finding” themselves is for people with too much time on their hands. If people stopped navel gazing and started actually doing things, instead of worrying about their own self-importance, seems to me the world would be a much better place… and people would be much happier.

Certainly puts you off visiting Chicago if that’s representative of the people there! With this and the earlier post about the Picasso sculpture, I don’t think you’ll be getting any commissions from the Illinois tourist board anytime soon.

I have a friend who says she has the most appalling bad luck. She has had a drink-driving conviction, married (and divorced) two dead-heads and has emphysema (yet still smokes!). You have to ask the question: Is this ‘bad luck’ – or bad judgement???

Well said Dave. I have discovered what I love after retirement. I don’t think I could have done acting and singing for a living, but in retirement, I do exactly what I like.

Find myself? I didn’t know I was lost!
Good advice. I discovered after I retired, that I wanted to do something other than vegetate! Not a traveler or partyer, so started writing. Guess you could say I took up masochism!

I with your buddy. Chicago isn’t alone with the cold winters, how about Minneapolis or Duluth or Buffalo. I’d rather live in Las Vegas it’s warmer there, there’s lots of pretty women and the drinks are cheaper, I think I’ll go there now and warm up bye for now. LLC Jim
